Babysitters need to be more flexible, conscientious, and willing to take on a lot more roles then they used to. Like parenting isn't hard enough. Introducing Covid-19 and then wham; it just got harder for parents and for children! Can you believe it? The thing is; parents need to reach out and get help where they can. There are options from food delivery, virtual babysitting and tutoring to me time through meditation or creative breaks to give parents the reboot they need to keep going.
The Coronavirus has sent family life into chaos and fear. It is understandable that parents are feeling overwhelmed because there is a high amount of stress and an increase of responsibility not to mention working from home while the kids are running around and needing care themselves. Family life has changed and studies show that parents are struggling with how to best serve their children and their family as a whole. Here is a list of reasons you should and need to get a babysitter.
Are summer camps going to be available for children this year? We won't know until Governor Polis lets us know May 25, 2020 but for now it looks like Colorado summer camps for kids may not be an option this year unless there are changes., and only a few kids will be admitted due to social distancing.
You May be at home but you can take time away from the kids!
Oh yeah the Coronavirus is here and it looks like it will be here for awhile but your relationship with your partner need not be sacrificed. You need time away from the kids probably now more than ever. The kids are always home, they are home for school, you're home with them working, they can't have physical plat-dates and you're organizing virtual play-dates, you're in charge of keeping them educated and entertained all the while your missing your partner besides just at bedtime.

I know a lot of us are freaking out about the Coronavirus, and though I believe it to be serious I think the best way to handle the "crisis" is to use your common sense. There is no reason to lose our minds BUT....you don't want to spread it around either. So here are some things to consider BEFORE you schedule a babysitter for your children during this time of caution.
